Customer Reviews
Good Product for the $$

I'm not a review writing type but after reading the 2 very bad reviews I thought I'd share my experience to maybe balance things out a bit. First off I paid about $24 US. for a 1 Watt LED - what a deal! This is a utilitarian torch, no clicky to fail or leak, by using twist contact, simple attractive polycarbonate case that can't roll, rubber on outside for easy grip. The flashlight is clearly marked inside where the pos & neg sides of the batteries go, but it would be better if it had the protection built in for inserting the batts in wrong (maybe it does and it failed), but $77 AUS for a new head, toss it & replace it! DeRoche- First I can't believe you would take off on trans Pacific cruise without testing your equipment. Having your life depend on 2 of the cheapest 1 watt torches makes me shutter. Second, after using mine hard for almost a year I've had no problem with the on-off, half turn is all it takes, don't even have to look- I know its off. I bought it for camping but since use it for everything, working on the trucks, home repair projects, you name it. I have even held it between the teeth to have both hands to work and soft rubber easy to get a grip, even gave it to the dog to run around the campground in the dark for some fun (at least it was after a few stout ones!)
Cheers Brian
Do not buy

I would suggest not buying this product. I thought it was OK until I accidentally inserted the batteries incorrectly. One would think that this would be one of the most common errors a user could make, and that a good product would be able to handle it.
Not this torch! It fried something in the head and it will not function anymore. Not covered under warrenty, and it would cost me $77.00 AUS to replace the head. So, I will be recommending to people not to buy it as well will warn all my scuba students to avoid it.
Useless

I purchased two of these flashlights for a sailing voyage across the Pacific Ocean. The quality of our flashlights are very important to us, so we bought these thinking they would be perfect for our needs ; submergeable in water, LED using little battery, a nice strong beam... unfortunately we were very disappointed. These flashlights had an weak beam and wouldn't even reach as far as our sails at night time meaning we were stuck in the middle of the ocean at night without sufficient lighting to make sail changes. We realized that it didn't have to be this way when we later purchased an LED headlamp and could see both sails perfectly. The Princeton tec flashlights were very difficult to turn off once turned on. You have to twist the top which seems to get stuck once turned on. In the end it became so impossible that we had to just leave it on all the time. Once when trying to change the batteries, the part where the battery spring sits fell off and it was impossible to get it back into place, meaning we couldn't position new batteries inside. This was the point at which we threw them away. This happened to BOTH identical flashlights we bought. I'm shocked that this brand produced such bad quality stuff.
