Could not have been more satisfied with Dog Pack. Took my Lab with us on Elk Hunt in Wyoming he was able to carry more then his share. Also was able to help Pack out two Elk both times I would say at least 15 pounds. Saved our backs some extra weight. The Pack held up great did rub a little on his left front leg, that was probably my fault for not having it adjusted just right. I agree with past reviews go one size smaller, my Lab weighs 85lbs I went with a Medium. Gary

Awesome Dog Pack!

5.0 / 5.0

I bought this pack after looking at Kelty Dog Packs at REI. This pack is made much better and has much more space. The fleece cushions around the buckles are great and it has cinch straps in all the right places. We purchased a medium size and used it on my 5 month old lab/mastiff mix. It was just ajustable enough to stay on her but she will have plenty of room to grow into it. The best part was she LOVED it and was so proud to have it on!

Uncomfortable, awkward, and unreliable

2.0 / 5.0

My girlfriend purchased this pack as a birthday gift for me last May. I am an avid hiker, and find nothing more thrilling than a brisk hike around the city. I appreciated the numerous storage pockets upon first examining the pack, but questioned how it would aesthetically partner with my body. The pack fits awkwardly around your arms and shoulders, forcing your body into a scoliosis provoked tantrum. I broke a strap immediately after securing the pack to my body, leaving me upset with my gift, and essentially ruining my birthday. In order to keep my girlfriend pleased, I hiked to the nearest convenience store, humiliated in my mutated posture, only to further damage the pack upon unmounting.

I am well built, and this may have led to the problems I encountered. One would expect a warning labled on the item, detailing size restraint necessary for proper use. If anyone else had similar issues, please let me know. A class-action lawsuit may be required for such oversight.

Quality Pack, Be aware of their sizing

4.0 / 5.0

Ordered this pack after Cesar Milan recommended packs for high-energy dogs. This pack lives up to it's reputation as a well made, long lasting quality product. My dog wears his every day for our walk and it doesn't chafe or otherwise bother him. I pack two 16oz water bottles in each side of the pack for a total of five pounds including the pack itself.

After reading the other reviews about how the sizes run very large, I ordered a small for my 45 pound dog. It fits perfectly. Read the other posts on sizing. I personally wouldn't recommend this pack for small breed dogs - even the small pack will be too large.

Good dogpack for larger dogs

4.0 / 5.0

I bought this dogpack for my basset/coonhound mix, in an effort to constructively tire him out (and also so I wouldn't have to carry his doggy bags all the time!).

Anyway, these are good high quality dogpacks. Excellent stitching and padding and the fabric (which is fairly water resistant) even kept my dog warm and dry in the snow and rain.

The only drawback we had to using this pack was that my dog had the standard basset "Dolly Parton" chest, so the chest strap didn't work very well on him. (I switched it to my beagle and it works beautifully on other, btw.) Other than that little foible, it's a great product.

I highly recommend this dogpack for high energy dogs and also for those all-day hiking trips--only fair to make the dog carry something! :-) (And please remember--the dog should never carry more than 10-20% of its own body weight: carrying more risks damaging its bones and joints.)

Happy trails!

Long Term Parking

Karin and I took a quick spin to Home Depot to pick up a new air filter for the house when we spotted this urban camper settled in for what appears to be an extended stay.  Notice the satellite dish next to the camper door?  The man must be on a serious shopping mission. 20 Unique Holiday Gifts

For those of you who despise “typical holiday gifts” like multi-tools and candle sets, I’ve listed a bunch of stuff from my favorite sites that are not typical gifts. You can be sure there wont be any dupes under the tree with this stuff.   Spoon Sisters has a ton of really cool (and ingenius) things. They also organize their gifts by things like Hostess, College and Our Friend Fred (for those people you don’t know very well but want to get something really neat).  The ‘Edge’ Brownie Pan, for th

Campsites as A Whole Camping World

Our campsites were a whole camping world for us in which we were two good neighbors to each other. And we were the neighbors who were in love with each other too. It was true for wherever we pitched our tents during the period Eva and I traveled together in the mysterious valley of Lahaul and Spiti. We would always pitch our tents by the riverside so that water was never a problem as well as it added a new dimension to the scenery around. Playing with water was the best opportunity that
