Customer Reviews

Good Quality, Reasonable Price

4.0 / 5.0

Nice watch, has the same features of Suunto and Tissot watches costing 3x to 6x more. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the band is really crappy. The band fell apart after less than a week. I bought a "The Band", heavier-duty velcro band for it. Wore it skiing in South America in August, and the altimeter / barometer worked very consistently in frequently changing altitudes and weather.

Very happy with this purchase. I have a whole drawer full of very expensive Tissot, TAG Heuer, and Breitling watches, yet I somehow wind up wearing one of my three TIMEX watches about 99% of the time. None of my TIMEX watches cost more than $75. Great product line in general.

Great Timex Watch

5.0 / 5.0

This is a very cool watch from Timex. I have purchased other Timex digital watches, but this is the first Timex watch that consistently maintains the time--haven't needed to re-adjust the seconds in the month or so that I've had it.

The only downsides are that I have a small wrist for a man and this watch is better suited for large wrists. I actually latch the band in the next-to-the-last slot.

Also, your body temperature will affect the temperature reading, so it's not particularly useful.

Otherwise, I am very happy.

Desert, Stars, and the TSA

We had big plans last weekend of taking a group of our friends out to Joshua Tree.  Having spent so much time out there the last two years rock climbing and camping, I figured our friends would enjoy the quiet solitude, campfire, and starry nights.  I guess I was wrong. Although we locked down the date over 4 months ago, our small circle of friends all lead very busy lives.  Like clockwork, we got our first call Tuesday night — the wife was sick and they were staying home.  We got our second c

‘Buddha Boy’ returns to jungle

KATHMANDU (AFP) – A young man believed by followers to be a reincarnation of Buddha has returned to Nepal’s jungles to meditate alone, police said Saturday, as scholars cast doubt on his supporters’ claims. Known as the “Buddha Boy,” Ram Bahadur Bomjam, 18, became famous in 2005 after supporters said he could meditate motionless for months without water, food or sleep. “Bomjam went back into the jungle late Friday and all the devotees have left,” police officer Gobinda Kushwaha told AFP fr

The Benefits Of Cycling In A Down Economy

The following is by Gene Bisbee of BikingBis.com People on a budget already know that one of their biggest expenses is their car. They can save money by leaving the car in the garage and still have rich experiences by riding a bicycle. A scenic attraction always seems more picturesque when you arrive under your own power. A bike commute to work feels like a victory lap when you pass a line of cars stuck at a particularly bad intersection. Even an errand to the store is less of a chore when it
