Customer Reviews

Mess Kit

4.0 / 5.0

I purchased this mess kit for my son who is in boy scouts. I wanted a mess kit that would last a while. I was impressed with the quality and construction of this product and believe it will stand up to the rigors of a young man in the woods. The only thing my son was disappointed with was the plastic handle on the lid of the pot. He would have liked it to have one that was metal or ceramic.

Great for Scouting

4.0 / 5.0

WE had been looking for mess kits for a while and I happened to see these on the web, we truly love them, with three Scouts in our family and a Mom and Dad that love camping this is a great addition to our camping outfit.

Eat to Live

I just had the worst energy bar. I don't know why I still buy this crap. I've heard that you're better off hauling Snickers bars than the overpriced REI food so I decided to find out. Mark Twight ( soooo dreamy) suggests consuming 200 Cal per hour while mountaineering in order to replenish depleted glycogen stores and avoid hitting the wall. Ideally 60-70% of this should come from carbs and the remainder from fat and protein. Here's the breakdown: Snickers Weight: 58.7g 280 Cal 14g
