Description

The Brunton L3 Headlamp features a 3-Watt Luxeon LED bulb that throws out an astonishing 207-foot beam of light, easily illuminating objects that are far out of range for most headlamps and a fair share of flashlights as well. What's equally amazing is that while most super-duper-bright LED lights munch power like popcorn at the movies, this Brunton wonder sports a marathon 200-hour life using just four AA batteries in its unique dual cases. Pop four C-cells into the included external battery case, and the L3's beam will last a claimed 300% longer, an expedition-worthy 600 hours of blazing, high-intensity light (we haven't even had one long enough to test that out, but stillwow). So while the Brunton L3 might be a tad heavy, and it's not ideal for every use, we know what headlamp we're grabbing if the sun goes out tomorrow.

Customer Reviews

Best headlamp by far

5.0 / 5.0

This is my fourth headlamp, the best by far, used for night bike commuting, and all night wilderness travel in Alaska. The beam is very good - perhaps not quite as far as the old Petzl Arctic halogen, but the batteries last a long time. I'm getting another one for a friend.

running

4.0 / 5.0

Just used this lamp for the first time. Spent 5 1/2 hours trail running. Have used several other headlamps and this one puts out excellent light and much better than previous lamps. I compared it to another lamp with fresh batteries before and after the run and it had lost little if any brightness after 5 1/2 hours. With running it tends to slide down due to the weight of the battery. Wish it had a top stabilizer strap.

Excellent Product from a company with World Class customer support

5.0 / 5.0

I've been using this headlamp nearly daily in my work for the last year. The quality of the headlamp is the best I've seen as it performs beyond my expectations - really stands up to harsh work environments, is comfortable for hours on-end, & the light quality is spectacular..

I recently had the pleasure of receiving help from Brunton's customer service. (Yeah, it was actually a pleasure) "Justin" went beyond my expectations and has made a life-long customer out of me.

Believe me when I say that this is a top-notch company that apparently cares deeply about their customers. I'm not much for writing reviews, but these people should be recognized for their excellent business model.

Buy Brunton products....You'll be glad you did.

The best, by far

5.0 / 5.0

Having owned several different headlamps before, I was reluctant to spend the money on this one. I am glad I did. It is by the far the brightest and longest lasting headlamp I have ever purchased. I use mine for everything; hunting, fishing, camping, caving, and even an adventure race. The light is bright and the batteries long lasting, with even better results using lithium batteries. Excellent, excellent product.

Best headlamp I ever owned

5.0 / 5.0

Working as an electrician I am in dark areas until I install the lights. I've had many cheaper head lamps but they don't last and eat batteries like crazy. I've had this one over a month with the same batteries and it's still bright as ever. Very comfortable design. Much better than ones with strap over top of head. Light is very bright and head swivels up and down to direct beam. Unlike others I have owned the switch is easy to operate while wearing. It seems very well made and suspect it will last me a long time. I've found no drawbacks to this headlamp and would highly recommend it to anyone especially if needed on a daily basis.

Testing my New Nikon P80 During a Walk in the Valley

I am a lucky fellow. My father in law returned yesterday from a business trip to Shanghai, and brought me a present - a Nikon Coolpix P80. It was perfect timing, as I was beginning to dream of a new camera. I have to read the instruction manual a few more times until I can make heads or tails of all the funky functionality. So yesterday afternoon I went out for a hike into the valley to try out the camera. I have a lot more figuring out to do with it, but here are the pictures I managed to snap.A

Life without water…

Ok, now this really sucks. Last week, I discovered that a small leak from the outside water pipe had gone from a mild seeping to a full-blown spraying. It was soaking my back porch and flowing down under the house into the crawl-space. The worst part about it, is that there’s a cut off valve right there, and I could shut the water on and off as I need to, but the cracked pipe is—of course—below the valve. Naturally! Since I’ve been working a lot of hours, and the Lovely Mrs. Shoehead was on anot
