New for 2008! Compact, lightweight and full of features, the Princeton-Tec Tactical Quad headlamp also includes interchangeable lenses for optimal performance. The Tactical Quad has 3 power settings (high, medium and low) and an emergency flash mode. Each power setting provides true current regulation, ensuring that the Tactical Quad will remain at constant brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage. On high, the Tactical Quad's 4 Ultrabright LED bulbs throw a beam just over 78 feet. The medium and low settings cast beams up to 59 ft. and 39 ft., respectively. With Alkaline batteries, run time on the high setting is 50 hours (1 hour at constant brightness). The low setting provides a run time of 150 hours (24 hours at constant brightness). Interchangeable red, green and blue lenses are included for varying demands and conditions. The large, single switch design makes the Tactical Quad easy to operate. The lamp rotates 90 degrees to provide convenient illumination regardless of the situation. The Tactical Quad is powered by three Alkaline AAA batteries (included). With these batteries, the Tactical Quad weighs just 3.56 oz. If you are looking to cut every possible ounce or want to increase burn time, the sophisticated circuitry of the Tactical Quad allows you to use more lightweight, high-performance lithium batteries in place of the standard Alkaline batteries. The plastic housing of the Tactical Quad is waterproof to 1 meter and is extremely resistant to wear and tear. The Princeton Tec Tactical Quad is available in your choice of Black, Olive Drab or Sand color schemes.

Princeton Tec Tactical Quad LED Headlamp
I like the headlamp it works well with the lithium batteries which are suppose to be lighter and longer lasting. I read the brocure that came with the headlamp and it says that alkalines actually last almost 3X longer in use than the lithiums. Only time will tell if this is the case. I will say that the headlamp came with 3 dead alkaline batteries which was a little disapointing and made me think my headlamp was broken when I tried firing it up using those batteries. I was impressed after putting some fresh batteries in though. The Light is comfortable to wear and gives a good range of motion for varied tasks. I look forward to putting it through it's paces in my upcoming hiking trips. I would highly recomend this light to anyone looking for one. Mine works great and I will say the cheapest I have found this light available for was when I found it on Amazon.com! Thanks!
